Lucian Perkins

Lucan Perkins is a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist, who worked for over twenty years as a staff photographer for The Washington Post. He was, also, named "Newspaper Photographer of the Year" by the NPPA/POY and earned the coveted "World Press Photo of the Year." His Pulitzer Prizes were for his work on poverty in the U.S. and the conflict in Kosovo.
He has published two books: Runway Madness, a humorous behind the scenes look at the New York Fashion Shows and Hard Art, DC 1979, an intimate snapshot of the beginnings of the DC Punk movement.
Perkins first documentary, The Messengers, was released in 2017. Currently, he is an independent photographer and filmmaker based in Washington, DC
