Sarah Hill

Sarah Hill is an eight time Emmy award winning reporter and 5pm anchor at KOMU-TV 8, the broadcast lab for the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She is accompanying Alex Rozier - a grand prize winner of the Pulitzer Center-sponsored YouTube Project: Report competition - on his reporting project, Guatemala: The Culture That Crawls.

Sarah started her career in radio in the early 90s, covering the city beat in Springfield, MO. She came to KOMU in 2000. Here, she reports a weekly feature franchise called "Sarahs Stories", anchors KOMU News at 5, and helps students hone their storytelling skills. She also produces a weekly segment called "Your View", which seeks to educate viewers about decision making in local news.

Sarah has a 1993 Bachelor of Journalism degree from the Missouri School of Journalism. In addition, shes won numerous awards including a 2009 National Edward R. Murrow

Award, a 2008 National Sigma Delta Chi, eight Emmys from the Mid-America Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences and seven regional Edward R. Murrow awards. Sarahs reporting has taken her around the world. Shes covered the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami in Sri Lanka and Indonesia and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana. Most recently, Sarah traveled to DaNang, Vietnam to illustrate a worldwide mobility problem for people unable to use their legs.
