Hardly a week goes by in Cameroon without residents of national parks complaining about the destruction of their fields by pachyderms, or these beasts' attacks on humans.

Feeling cramped in their living space due to the massive destruction of forests for agro-industry, mining, timber exploitation, or major structuring projects, the animals now scour villages and plantations in search of food, leaving the population vulnerable.
