Claire Ferrara

PULITZER CENTER ALUM

Claire Ferrara received her bachelor's degree from Gettysburg College in Globalization Studies and Studio Art, with a concentration in photography. She focused her academic career on the media's portrayal of global inequalities, enrolling in courses across a wide range of disciplines. She also worked as student program coordinator at the Center for Public Service (CPS), a non-profit organization focused on engaging students in social justice issues. Her thesis project included a book on human rights in the Dominican Republic, documented during a CPS-sponsored trip. It is currently in the process of being published.

Today, Claire is pursuing a master's degree in New Media Photojournalism at the Corcoran College of Art & Design. This is the first graduate photojournalism program in Washington, D.C., teaching students the skills to create visual stories used for multimedia platforms.
