Tomas Munita

Tomás Munita (Chile, 1975) is a documentary photographer with a primary interest on social and environmental issues. He has focused his work in Latin America, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
Munita's work is published in major publications such as The New York Times, Geo, Time, National Geographic, Courrier International, Le Monde, Stern, Der Spiegel, La Tercera and many others.
After several years based in different countries (Panama 2000-2002, India 2003, Afghanistan 2005, India 2007-8, Nepal 2008) he came back to his home country, Chile, where he is currently based.
He has received several awards, some of them are All Roads by National Geographic in 2010, Henri Nannen Preis in 2010, Leica Oskar Barnack Award in 2006, two World Press Photo Awards in 2006, ICP Young Photographer Infinity Award in 2005.
