Paul Franz

GRANTEE, PROJECT REPORT WINNER6

Paul Franz was one of five winners of the 2010 Pulitzer Center YouTube Project Report contest. He is a multimedia journalist with critically recognized skills in visual storytelling, programming for the Web and news writing. Born and raised in New York City, Paul is currently pursuing his masters degree in multimedia journalism at the University of Miamis School of Communication. 

Within the past year, Paul has developed an international portfolio. In April, he produced a short film in South Africa about the country's management of pollution, as part of a larger multimedia project about the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. He also produced two video stories and managed content for another multimedia site, Colorful but Colorblind, a European Union-sponsored project aimed at raising awareness of discrimination against the Roma people.

Currently, his travel grant from the Pulitzer Center has sent him to Haitis Port-au-Prince, where he will be creating a multimedia Web site on the countrys efforts to reform education.
