Kate Steger received a Masters of Public Health with a concentration in International Health from Boston University in May 2010. She also has an MA in East Asian Studies from the University of Minnesota and a BA in English from the University of Kansas. At Boston University, she worked to promote communications competency in public health and helped launch The Movement, a student-run, global health journal for which she was the Editor-in-Chief in its second year. She also won the John Snow, Inc. Award in International Health in recognition of vision, leadership and academic achievement. She has worked in non-profit administration and education in the U.S., China and Taiwan. She speaks Mandarin Chinese as well as some French and German.
