M. Sophia Newman is a health journalist from Chicago. She launched her journalism career in 2013, while on a Fulbright fellowship to Bangladesh. Her achievements include a 2014 Shannon Fellowship from the International Thomas Merton Society and a successful crowdfunding campaign to report from West Africa during the Ebola crisis.
