Martin Fletcher

Martin Fletcher worked 30 years for The Times (London) as a political reporter, as a correspondent based successively in Washington, Brussels and Belfast, and as foreign editor from 2002 to 2006. After that, he was a roving correspondent and reported from numerous countries including Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, Haiti, Egypt, China and Chile. As a freelancer, he was named Feature Writer of the Year in the British Press Awards of 2016.
Fletcher is the author of two books, "Almost Heaven: Travels Round the Backwoods of America" (Little Brown 1998) and "Silver Linings: Travels Around Northern Ireland' (Little Brown 2000). He is married with three children and lives in London.
