Maura R. OConnor attended Bard College at Simons Rock in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, where she studied the liberal arts before graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. She was an Associate Editor for EnlightenNext Magazine for four years. In May 2008, she received a Master of Science degree from Columbia Universitys Graduate School of Journalism, where she focused on newspaper reporting and international affairs.
