Trang Bui is a multimedia data journalist with three years of experience in investigative and data journalism. She has worked with The Guardian on dairy waste pollution, Bloomberg Businessweek on how global change affects minimum wage workers, and South China Morning Post on woman trafficking. Prior to working with international outlets, she covered social & cultural issues for Vietnam's most-read newspaper, VnExpress.
Trang has received training in data and investigative journalism as a fellow of the Global Investigative Journalism Network for two consecutive years (2018 & 2019). In October 2019, she co-lectured a training on data journalism in Vietnam funded by the French media development agency CFI. Trang is currently the program coordinator of the Centre for Media and Development Initiatives (MDI), and a reporter for The Environmental Reporting Collective. Her latest project, The Pangolin Reports, a global collaborative effort, uses data to dig into the illegal pangolin trade across 14 countries and three continents.
