Carol Tavris, Ph.D., is a social psychologist, lecturer, and writer, whose lifetime work has been devoted to educating the public about good psychological science (an uphill battle, in a world where psychobabble prevails). She is coauthor, with Elliot Aronson, of the best-selling Mistakes Were Made (But Not by Me): Why we justify foolish beliefs, bad decisions, and hurtful acts (3rd edition, 2020).
