Azam Bin Carang is one of the few Indigenous people (or Orang Asli) of the Jahai tribe in Peninsular Malaysia who is involved full time in hornbill/forest conservation.

He lives in the Belum-Temengor Forest Complex of the Central Forest Spine. He has participated in Indigenous peoples' celebratory events and co-authored journal papers.

He is a former participant of a photography workshop supported by the European Union through BirdLife International-led “Strengthening Non-State Actor Involvement in Forest Governance” project.
