Lisseth Boon
GRANTEE, 2024 OCEAN REPORTING FELLOW (AMERICAS)
Lisseth Boon is Venezuelan investigative journalist with extensive experience in print and digital media in Venezuela and transnational collaborative projects. She has received numerous national and international awards for her investigations into corruption, organized crime, illegal mining, environmental crimes, and human rights violations. Most recently, she received the 2025 King of Spain Award for her work on gold trafficking with the collaborative project Dorada Opacidad.
A graduate of Andrés Bello Catholic University, she holds postgraduate degrees from Simón Bolívar University in Caracas and Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain. She has been a speaker at global conferences and a fellow in international training programs such as the Pulitzer Center's Ocean Reporting Network (ORN).
She coordinated the investigative unit at Runrunes and investigative projects for the Rebel Alliance Investigates (ARI). Since April 2023, she has been part of the Armando.Info team, the only media outlet dedicated to investigative journalism in Venezuela. Member of the cross-border research project 'Dorada Opacidad', winner of the King of Spain International Journalism Prize.
