Aryana Noroozi
2020 & 2024 REPORTING FELLOW
Aryana Noroozi is a photojournalist and digital artist who earned her master’s degree at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. Her work has been featured in The San Diego Union-Tribune and the Los Angeles Times.
After completing her master's, she worked as a migration and refugee fellow at The GroundTruth Project, where she discovered her passion for solutions journalism.
Noroozi used reporting, along with documentary photography, to cover education within and the representation of San Diego’s refugee communities during COVID-19. Her multimedia work also covered urban social justice issues and communities south of the U.S.-Mexico border.
A significant portion of Noroozi’s work is based in the Tijuana, Mexico, area, capturing its binational experience and deportee community.
