Shawn Bayrd
REPORTING FELLOW
Shawn Bayrd is a Washington, D.C.–based global health researcher and journalist whose work merges rigorous policy analysis with hands‑on public health initiatives.
He holds a bachelor's degree in biology and Romance languages from Bowdoin College and is currently completing a master of public health degree in global health policy from The George Washington University.
His qualitative fieldwork spans North America, Europe, and Africa—evaluating community‑based mental health programs in Uganda, facilitating participatory health workshops in Liberia, and designing educational health campaigns in the U.S. and abroad.
