Timothy McLaughlin

Timothy McLaughlin is a Chicago-based reporter. He spent over four years reporting from Myanmar first with the local Myanmar Times, then with Reuters. In August 2016 he moved to Chicago where he worked for Reuters covering the Midwest. He was awarded a Gun Violence Reporting Fellowship from the Dart Center at Columbia University in August 2017 to work on a project looking at the lives of refugees resettled in high crime areas across the Midwest in collaboration with The Trace. His writing has been published in the Wall Street Journal, Foreign Policy, and numerous other publications. He is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
