In the DRC, non-timber forest products are becoming increasingly rare, and the risk of their disappearance high, as a result of human pressure on the forest. In this report, produced with the support of the Congo Basin Rainforest Journalism Fund and the Pulitzer Center, Hervé Mukulu and his colleagues show us the penchant of some inhabitants of Kinshasa, Kisangani, Beni, Butembo, and Bunia for these products and the mechanisms for their preservation.
