Apoorva Mittal

REPORTING FELLOW

Apoorva Mittal is currently working at National Public Radio's (NPR) All Things Considered. A graduate from Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University, Apoorva was awarded the James Folly Fellowship. As Athena Robbin fellow, Apoorva received a grant to cover youth unemployment in South Africa. She published a book "Refugee Change-makers" while covering the refugee crisis in Europe from the Netherlands. It includes stories of refugees from Sierra Leone, Rwanda, Eritrea, Iraq, Syria etc. The stories showed how the refugees contribute to their host community. She has reported extensively on subjects ranging from immigration, politics, veteran affairs and non-binary fashion apparel. Her work has been published in Chicago Reader, Military Times, Huffington Post, and NPR.
