Carissa Coane
REPORTING FELLOW
Carissa is a current student at Stanford University. She graduated from Glendale College in 2025 after earning associate's degrees in journalism and mass communications. She previously served as editor-in- hief of her college's newspaper, El Vaquero, and published her college's first-of-its-kind literary and arts magazine. She is a member of Investigative Reporters & Editors, where she won a 2024 AccessFest fellowship. She is also a California Student Journalism Corps intern at EdSource. Her writing has also been recognized by the Bergen International Literary Festival, PEN International, and PEN Norway.
