Joanne Silberner

Joanne Silberner is a freelance multimedia reporter, and also an artist-in-residence at the University of Washington. She has a bachelor's degree in biology from Johns Hopkins University, a master's in journalism from Columbia University, and had a one year fellowship at the Harvard School of Public Health. For 18 years she covered health policy, global health and other health-related issues for NPR. She has had two previous projects for the Pulitzer Center: one on cancer in developing countries, and the other on non-communicable diseases in Cambodia.
