Shirin Alhroob

REPORTING FELLOW

Shirin is a student in IT Programming and Software development at Forsyth Technical Community College. After spending nearly two years in computer information technology, she believes what truly drives achieving success in a world of increasing diversity is respect, showing consideration for one another, and recognizing each other's differences. It's how well you connect with the heart-beating people you're trying to help and communicate your understanding back to them. She worked hard to be successful at the college. She maintained 3.9 grade point average and a rigorous academic curriculum. In addition to her extensive technical skills experience, she earned membership at Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society from accomplishing great things at Forsyth Tech Community College, Winston Salem Campus. She learned to create an affirmation that empowers her desired qualities. Her personal affirmation is "I am a determined, hard working, confident woman, and I will succeed." She will never stop learning and enhancing both her technical and soft skills. While these skills are important, her primary gift is to be of service of others. It is the guidance, mentor-ship and direction of others that has enabled her to continue her career path.
