Elizabeth Salazar
2026 RAINFOREST INVESTIGATIONS FELLOW (PERU)
Elizabeth Salazar is an investigative journalist, editor, and data analyst based in Peru. She specializes in producing multimedia and audiovisual journalism projects covering human rights, inequality, the environment, and gender. She is a co-founder of the outlet Reportes Silenciados, a contributor to Mongabay Latam and other international media, and a member of Connectas Hub. She previously worked at Ojo Público and El Comercio.
She has been a fellow of the Gabo Foundation and the Centre for Investigative Journalism.
She has been part of the winning teams for the 2025 Global Shining Light Award, the 2024 National Journalism Award, and the 2021 Award for Journalistic Excellence from the Inter American Press Association (IAPA), organization that also awarded her an honorable mention in 2024.
