Virginia Garino

GUEST CONTRIBUTOR

Virginia Garino is a Research Associate at American University, in collaboration with the Humanities Truck and Trabajadores Unidos de Washington DC. She recently graduated from American University with a Bachelor's Degree in International Affairs and Spanish Studies. While in school, Garino became certified as a Spanish Translator to further develop her Spanish language skills.

As part of her Spanish Studies degree, she took a backpack documentary course with Professor Bill Gentile, in which she developed filming and video journalism skills. Thanks to the course, Garino was able to explore a field that she never thought she would launch into. Garino also learned more about the Latin American community in the United States and beyond.
