Andrés Tapia is a community communicator, with a degree at the People's College of Härnösand, Sweden, and is the communication leader of CONFENIAE for two consecutive mandates since 2016. 

Andrés also holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Central University of Ecuador, a Master in Biodiversity in Tropical Forests from the Menéndez Pelayo International University of Spain, and has several scientific articles on environment published in indexed journals as well as press releases, journalistic articles, and communications written in national and international media. 

He is the author and co-author of books on wildlife, socio-environmental conflicts, and geopolitical situation of the Indigenous Movement, such as the book Estallido: la rebelión de octubre en Ecuador together with Leonidas Iza, president of the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador CONAIE.

Currently, he is also director of Radio La Voz de la Confeniae 99.1 FM, audiovisual producer with about 40 productions and co-productions with various film, video, and audiovisual collectives in Ecuador, America, and Europe, and currently directs the filming of the documentary Allpamanda for the 40 years of organizational life of the CONFENIAE.
