Jason George

GRANTEE

Jason George is general assignment reporter for the Chicago Tribune, focusing on long-form features.

He spent much of the past two years reporting on the 2008 presidential race, traveling from Wasilla, Alaska to coastal South Carolina – and to 30+ states in between.

Before coming the Tribune, George worked as a contract writer at the New York Times, writing mostly about New Jersey and its law enforcement, including investigative series on anthrax and medical malpractice. Prior to the Times, he freelanced for two years from the Middle East.

In 2008, the Chicago Headline Club awarded George its Lisagor Award for Best Feature Story.
