The final episode of the series, "Voices of the Forest: The Chico Mendes Forest Peoples' Alliance in our Time," features Raimundão, one of the most respected and beloved leaders among the seringueiros (rubber tappers) and extractivists. Raimundão, a forest sage, offers his thoughts and memories as a way to close this series.

This series began with an Indigenous person, and will end with a seringueiro, closing the circle of this Alliance that can teach us so much. Raimundão talks about memory and knowledge in the forest, the example set by his cousin Chico Mendes, the miserable times when women hid themselves for lack of clothes, the terror of farmers and comrades murdered, the conquests of the past, how struggles took place, the setbacks of the present and the errors of the Left, the return of the Alliance, and the Alliance's intimate relationship with the forest and an idea of freedom.

"Freedom for me is speaking what I know is true. Freedom for me is having the right to live in my home, with my family, without being disturbed by anyone. Freedom for me is having the opportunity to see my comrades living a life of the same quality as mine, because I've learned that we shouldn't be individualistic -- the more we are collective, the better. Freedom is that I have the right to come and go when and where I want."
