Marni Lennon

Marni Lennon is the assistant dean for public interest and pro bono and a lecturer of law. She is the founder and director of the HOPE Public Interest Resource Center, and has worked and taught at the University of Miami School of Law for 26 years, serving for the last 13 years as the assistant dean for public interest and pro bono.

Among other public interest initiatives, she established the HOPE Fellows Program, which provides students with opportunities to work locally, nationally, and internationally in public interest organizations. Lennon also directs the Miami Scholars Program for students who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to public interest advocacy and who possess outstanding academic credentials, serves as co-advisor to the Public Interest Leadership Board, and works closely with student organizations engaged in community outreach and advocacy.

Moreover, Lennon teaches alternative dispute resolution, ADR design systems, mediation and social justice lawyering, and is a Florida Supreme Court certified family mediator. She has served in numerous leadership roles for the Student Services Section and the Pro Bono Section of the Association of American Law Schools. She is also the author, with Melvin Rubin, of Mediation, in 3 Florida Family Law 55-1 (Brenda M. Abrams ed. 2012) and The Vulnerable Client: Standing at the Crossroad of Compassion and Competence, with Jan Jacobowitz (MIE Legal Aid Journal, summer 2018).

Lennon currently serves on the Board of Southern Legal Counsel and the board of CETLAW. She is also proud to serve on the Dean’s Circle for the Squire Patton Boggs Foundation.
