Lizzie Wade

Lizzie is the Latin American correspondent for Science magazine, based in Mexico City. She frequently covers archaeology, the environment, science policy, and the intersection of science and human rights in Latin America. "Cradle of Life," her Science article on the evolution of the Amazon rainforest, was awarded the 2016 Walter Sullivan Award from the American Geophysical Union, which recognizes excellence in feature writing about the earth sciences.

Wade's work has also appeared in Wired, The Atlantic, Slate, Aeon, California Sunday, Archaeology, Smithsonian, and The New York Times, among others. She received a B.A. in comparative literature from Barnard College in New York City. From 2009 to 2011, Wade was a Fulbright scholar in Mexico City, studying translation.
