A.J. Naddaff

2018 REPORTING FELLOW AND GRANTEE

A.J. Naddaff is a translator, independent journalist, and a doctoral student in the department of Comparative Literature at Stanford.

Prior, he was based in Lebanon for two years, where he completed a master's in Arabic literature and Near Eastern studies from the American University of Beirut (AUB) and worked as a freelance journalist covering Syria and Lebanon for the Associated Press.

His work has been published in The Intercept, Columbia Journalism Review, The Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Review of Books, among others. He has been translating a novel by Lebanese author Rachid el Daif.

Naddaff was selected as the Pulitzer Center 2018 Reporting Fellow from Davidson College. He reported from Kosovo on combating jihadism in a Euro-Muslim society.
