Tinku Ray

Tinku Ray is a career journalist with more than 25 years of experience across three continents with the BBC and NPR. During her years as a reporter she covered events such as the LA riots following the acquittal of the four officers in the Rodney King case, the start of the Afghan war after 9/11, stories on Dalits in India and the oppression they endure across the country, India's worst earthquake in Gujarat and the end of the Sri Lankan civil war. Passionate about radio, she worked hard to move up from a researcher to an editor and reporter. A desire to pass on that experience and skills compelled Tinku to start training young journalists on best practices and how to tell a good story. She has two daughters, loves nature, and owns a farm in rural India, which is being developed as an eco-resort.
