Juilia Galiano-Rios is a bilingual, Cuban-American video journalist with over a decade of experience covering both news and feature stories across Latin America. Since late 2014, she has been based in Havana, Cuba where she's had a front row seat to the extraordinary events taking place on the island. In that time, she has produced, shot and edited a wide range of stories for international media outlets including The Associated Press, Al Jazeera English, BBC, Discovery Channel and PBS NewsHour among others. From the devastating earthquake in Haiti in January 2010 to the recent migrant caravan that made its way across Mexico, she has spent the last 12 years filming the most pivotal stories in the region with a special emphasis on cross border issues and migration. In addition, she has worked extensively with organizations such as UNHCR and Human Rights Watch across Latin America as the coordinator and videographer for multiple programs highlighting their work in the region.
