In the Maniema Province in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, CLOROPHORA, locally known as MUFULA, which is used for furniture and house construction, is overexploited in the forests of Kibombo and Kasongo territories. This situation is at the root of a strong deforestation, according to a report of the Provincial Coordination of the Environment in Maniema.
