Mauricio Monteiro Filho

Mauricio is an investigative journalist and documentary filmmaker.

Over the past 18 years, he has covered social and environmental issues as a freelance reporter for several Brazilian news outlets, namely Rolling Stone.

He is a co-founder of Repórter Brasil, Brazil's leading organisation in the struggle against contemporary slave labor, as well as other fundamental human rights violations.

As a filmmaker, he has written, produced or directed several social impact documentaries.

In 2019, he became a National Geographic Explorer.
