Nopri Ismi

Nopri Ismi is a journalist for Mongabay Indonesia, covering his native Bangka Belitung Islands. He enjoys using visual mediums to tell stories, whether in photos or videos.
Besides Mongabay Indonesia, his works have also been featured in Project Multatuli, The Gecko Project, New Naratif, BBC, and the YouTube channel rumahsriksetra, a creative community focused on environmental and cultural issues.
He has also received the Asia Pacific Story Grants from the Earth Journalism Network and Internews (2019), the Permata Photo Journalist Grant-Panna Foto Institute (2020), the Pulitzer Center “Rainforest Journalist Fund” (2022), and received an ‘Honorable Mention’ at the SOPA (The Society of Publishers in Asia) Awards 2023. His photo essay about "Menjaga Keluarga di Benak" was published in the book Badai Belum Usai by Kurawal Foundation, alongside nine other photographers from across Indonesia.
