Nopri Ismi is a journalist and visual storyteller who was born in Cambai Village, Bangka Belitung Islands Province in Indonesia. Ismi has written for Mongabay Indonesia.
He is a master's student in environmental science at Diponegeoro University. In 2019, he participated in the Asia Pacific Story Grants program from Earth Journalism Network and Internews. He used that opportunity to report on the impact of tin mining activities on pepper farmers on Bangka Island, and how it relates to climate change.
In recent years, he has been interested in the knowledge and dynamics experienced by Indigenous people on Bangka.
