Ann Babe

2022 AI ACCOUNTABILITY FELLOW

Ann Babe is a long-form journalist who writes about the lives of women, and the systemic inequities that shape them. She has reported on the North Korean women who escape to the South only to face discrimination, the solitary women who live outside of South Korea's conventional social structures, and the deficiencies of the child welfare system in South Korea and the mental health crisis of the transracial adoptees who have come out of it. Her work has been supported by the Pulitzer Center, the International Women's Media Foundation, and the International Reporting Project, as well as featured on Longreads and Longform.
