Billy Ntaote

Billy Ntaote is founder of the MNN Centre for Investigative Journalism, a nonprofit, independent journalism start-up exposing corruption and wrongdoing, holding those in authority accountable, and protecting human rights in Lesotho.
He has worked as senior political reporter for Africa Media Holdings and publisher of Lesotho Times and Sunday Express newspapers.
He has also reported for the Mail and Guardian, covering Lesotho, Swaziland, and South Africa during a 2015 fellowship with the amaBhungane Centre for Investigative Journalism.
He is a Mandela Washington Fellow. The fellowship is a program that's part of the State Department’s Young Africa Leaders Initiative.
Ntaote started his journalism career at Public Eye newspaper in October 2009, where he worked until August 2013.
He has a bachelor's degree in political science and public administration from the National University of Lesotho. He has taken numerous journalism short courses.
