Eric Adelson was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, before attending Harvard for undergrad and Columbia for journalism school. He wrote for ESPN Magazine for 10 years and then Yahoo Sports for another nine. He has focused on the nexus of sports and society, including issues like criminal justice, mental illness, and the opioid crisis. He won APSE sports feature of the year in 2013 and he is now an adjunct professor at the University of Florida. He is also on the board of the National Diaper Bank Network. He lives in Orlando, Florida, with his wife and two daughters.
