Fabián Werner

Journalist Fabián Werner has been the director of Sudestada.com.uy, specializing in investigative journalism, since 2014.
He is also a correspondent in Montevideo for Latin America at Radio France International (since 2012) and a correspondent for Reuters (since 2019).
He has served as a juror for the FOPEA Award for Investigative Journalism, 2018. He was a finalist with honorable mention for the Latin American Prize for Investigative Journalism Colpin in 2019, and the Roche Award for Journalism in Health in 2014.
He has been the coordinator of freedom of expression at the Center for Archives and Access to Public Information (CAinfo) since 2013, and is a member of the coordinating committee of the Exchange Network for Freedom of Expression for Latin America and the Caribbean (IFEX-ALC) since April 2019.
