Jeff Tollefson

INTERNATIONAL RJF GRANTEE

Jeff Tollefson has written about climate and environmental issues for Nature Magazine since 2007. His work has focused on earth sciences and technology as well as economics, politics and global development. Prior to joining Nature, he spent two years on Capitol Hill covering energy and climate issues for Congressional Quarterly Magazine. As a Knight Science Journalism fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tollefson spent the 2004-2005 academic year exploring the nexus between energy and global warming. He was awarded a fellowship from the Alicia Patterson Foundation in 2014 to investigate deforestation and sustainable development in the Brazilian Amazon. He is originally from Wyoming and speaks French and Portuguese.
