Katie Brown

Katie Brown was formerly a general intern at the Pulitzer Center.
Katie Brown received her master's degree in science communication from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She also has a degree in environmental studies from California State University Monterey Bay, where she was an Undergraduate Research Opportunity Center Scholar who worked as a field biologist alongside Alaskan fishermen studying fish guts and collaborated with Ethiopian communities to conserve sacred forests.
As an environmental journalist, Brown is dedicated to shedding light on underreported environmental issues at the intersection of social justice and ecological health. Her reporting has been featured in the San Jose Mercury News, Mongabay, and Science News.
