Lilo Clareto is a photojournalist born in Passos, Minas Gerais. He worked at Estadão newspaper and at Época magazine, in São Paulo. Since 2008, he has worked as a freelancer for Repórter Brasil, El País and The Guardian. In 2017 he moved to Altamira, Pará, to work in partnership with Eliane Brum. In the Amazon, he found his purpose in life, in working alongside riverine and indigenous peoples, in conjunction with partners like the Socio-Environmental Institute (ISA) and Amazônia Real. Since 2019 he has worked as a fixer for publications like Rolling Stone, Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbum and French newspaper Le Figaro.
