Marco Simoncelli

Freelance reporter-photographer Marco Simoncelli has specialized in Africa and its socio-political dynamics.
After graduating with a degree in literature and journalism, he started his career in the editorial offices of specialized magazines in Africa, for which he produced reports from the Congo, Cameroon, and Tanzania.
Later, he became a freelance journalist and moved to Maputo, Mozambique, where for two years he produced reports as a correspondent in various countries in Southern Africa.
Currently, he’s based in Dakar, Senegal, where he produces written, photographic, and video reports from the West Africa and Sahel region. He is also the co-founder of FADA, an Italian collective of freelance journalists, photographers, and videographers.
