Martín Ibarrola was born in Bilbao in 1992. He is a writer and journalist with experience in investigative reporting, an academic background in philology and humanities studies and a master's degree in multimedia journalism. His work has been featured in outlets such as El Confidencial or El Correo and his research has covered a wide range of topics, from a murder in the ancient necropolis of Luxor to Paleolithic paintings found in the uncharted caves of the Basque Country. His third published book, the chronicle of an expedition to the Peruvian region of Madre de Dios titled La selva herida (Ed. Pepitas de Calabaza), received the Bretón & Olarra award. In addition to his literary and journalistic projects, he also works as a bookseller in a children's bookstore.
