Mona Garimella

Mona Garimella is a junior at William & Mary, majoring in government and psychology. She serves as editor-in-chief of The Flat Hat, the school’s independent, student-run newspaper. Garimella is passionate about local journalism that amplifies underrepresented voices and sparks meaningful public discourse.

She is also involved in research on democratic erosion, and works as an advocate with The Haven, a confidential campus resource center for those impacted by gender-based violence. Garimella hopes to continue working with grassroots organizations to advance the issues she cares about through advocacy and policy.
