Rosie Pioth is an independent journalist who started working in the media decades ago. Since receiving a university degree in information management in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, she was trained as a journalist in a local media organization and eventually became a correspondent for the same group. A passion for journalism brought her to where she is today, the Deutsche Welle correspondent based in Kinshasa and later in Pointe-Noire in The Republic of the Congo. She also worked for Andalou Agensy in Pointe-Noire, and a local media called DRTV before joining Euronews' sister organization, Africanews, as information coordinator. She occupied this post for three years before becoming a freelance correspondent working for the same organization in the Congo. In 2008, she was awarded the UNDP's "best TV reporting on environmental protection" in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Rosie is married and a mother of four. Family is not a handicap for her. On the contrary, her family is her force in the pursuit of her passion: journalism. Discrete and hard-working, she is always on the lookout for opportunities to learn. Her heart is in defending women and giving a voice to the voiceless.
