Sam Olukoya is a journalist based in Lagos, Nigeria. He was a former associate editor of Newswatch, a prominent Nigerian newsmagazine. Since leaving the magazine in 1999, he has widely reported for several international prints and broadcast media including the BBC, Radio Deutsche Welle, Radio France International and Radio Netherlands. Olukoya, who is a British Chevening scholar, has many local and international reporting awards to his credit. He has university degrees in Mass Communications and Environmental Science. He takes particular interest in writing about environment, human development and issues often neglected by the mainstream media.
