Sarah Swan
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS & AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT
Sarah Swan is the director of communications and audience engagement at the Pulitzer Center. Before joining the Center, she worked as an Account Director at Media Cause, where she led cross-functional teams across marketing, fundraising, advocacy, and creative disciplines, developing multi-channel strategies to support the goals of a wide range of nonprofit organizations. She has robust experience in global health and social justice communications, serving as the lead strategist for organizations like Pathfinder International, the Center for American Progress, Brennan Center for Justice, Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and Women’s World Banking.
She also has a background in and passion for global education. Prior to Media Cause, Sarah spent four years leading marketing and communications at The MBA Tour, an international higher education organization that facilitates connections and recruiting between graduate business schools, prospective students, and education partners. She has experience running campaigns, managing partnerships, and leading events in over 40 countries around the world.
Sarah is passionate about sexual violence prevention and advocacy, and served as a rape crisis counselor and advocate in her home city of Boston, MA. Now located in the Bay Area, she is thrilled to support the incredible work of the Pulitzer Center and its grantees at this critical time for exposing truth and educating the public.
