Sararat (Joy) Tosakoon

REPORTING FELLOW

Sararat Tosakoon is an MPH candidate with a concentration in global health epidemiology and disease control at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Currently, she is a post-baccalaureate fellow at the National Cancer Institute studying sex differences in cancer incidence as well as cancer risks and outcomes among sexual and gender minority adults. She is passionate about understanding health behaviors and improving healthcare access and services among underrepresented populations. As a Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellow, Tosakoon hopes to use her academic and research background to report on the impact of discriminatory challenges on the health of transgender individuals in Thailand, her parents’ country of origin, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
